It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.
Galle Light House
This is Sri Lanka's oldest light house built back to 1848, but the original 24.5-metre-high (80 ft) lighthouse built by the British was located about 100 metres (330 ft) from the current site; however, it was destroyed by fire in 1934. The existing 26.5-metre-high (87 ft) lighthouse was erected here in 1939.

Unawatuna is situated at an elevation of 5 metres (16 ft) above the sea level.
National Museum of Galle
The National Museum of Galle (Galle National Museum) is one of the national museums of Sri Lanka. It is located in the oldest remaining Dutch building in the Galle fort, Galle, a single storey colonnaded Dutch building built in 1656 as the commissariat store for the Dutch garrison at the fort.

Aftermath of Tsunami on 26th December 2004, the museum was completely destroyed and all the expositions were damaged. Under Sri Lanka – Netherlands Cultural Co-operation Program, the Royal Government of Netherlands provided financial assistance for reconstruction of the Maritime Museum.
Jungle Beach
Jungle Beach is a secluded beach in Unawatuna. The name derives from the surrounding jungle. To access the beach one must hike down the cliff s through the jungle, which is an adventure on it’s own.
Galle Clock Tower
The Galle Clock Tower (or Anthonisz Memorial Clock Tower) is located within the Galle Fort in Galle, Sri Lanka. The Clock Tower is a popular landmark and overlooks the central Moon Bastion, on the site of the former guard room. The Clock Tower was constructed in 1883, paid for through public subscriptions by the people of Galle, in recognition of Dr. P. D. Anthonisz.
Japanese Peace Pagoda
Built with the help of Japanese monks, the peace pagoda on Rumassala Hill is one of three Buddhist stupas in Sri Lanka. Stupas are monuments that serve as beacons of peace for people of all nationalities and creeds, and the clean, rounded design of the Unawatuna pagoda exemplifies this. Visitors can walk or drive the shaded path to the Peace Pagoda and they will be rewarded with a towering, white bell-like structure surrounded by gold-painted statues. Sets of steps also lead to a walkway encircling the shrine which offers a 360-degree view of the jungle and bay.
Galle Harbor
Galle Harbour is a natural harbour, located in Galle, on the south-western coast of Sri Lanka. Currently Galle port serves as one of the most active regional ports in the country. It is also the only Sri Lankan port that provides facilities for pleasure yachts. International yacht societies have recognized Galle Harbour as one of the world's best attractions for yachting.
Rumassala Santuary
In the past, Rumassala was known as Buono Vista, a name that dates back to the colonial period, and most likely a corruption of ‘Buena Vista', or Spanish for ‘pleasant view'. Regardless of origin it is indeed an accurate description of the place they chose to name, for the top of Rumassala hill offers what are arguably the best coastal views along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
Dewata Beach
Dewata beach is a public beach in Galle that is highly popular with surfers. Considered as one of the most ideal surf spots for beginners, it is also one of the most cleanest in Sri Lanka. Dewata beach is blessed with Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the south southwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right. Good surf at all stages of the tide.

Koggala is a relatively unknown beach paradise in the deep South of Sri Lanka. It’s located between Unawatuna and Mirissa. The white sand and the few people that are on the beach makes Koggala beach a great location to stay for a little while. Koggala also has a small rain-forest reserve where they offer boat trips.
